How To Romanticize Your Life
Let’s slow life down a little

In our day to day, we often rush through the hustle and bustle of life. As college students it’s easy to get busy while balancing classes, exams and social situations. It's hard to appreciate our lives, but easy to focus on the negative, that’s just a fact. So, taking a moment to romanticize the good is something I have been trying to incorporate into my own life.
Affirmations .
Affirmations have been the number 1 thing I do to remind myself that I have a beautiful life, even when my brain tells me otherwise. Taking 5 minutes in the morning or night to remind myself of just a few good things either happening to me or about myself changes my outlook on the entirety of the day.
A good coffee (or chai) run
I love a coffee run. Not only does it give me time to think and unwind but walking to get a good sweet treat adds a little bit of excitement to the day. I also find coffee runs to be a fantastic time to catch up with a friend.
Walks around campus
Syracuse has so much beauty. I specifically fell in love with this school when I toured it in the midst of fall. The color of the leaves changing, the insane architecture and running into friendly faces reminds me to stay grounded and be thankful for the school around me and the people within it.
Jeans to class
This one is huge for me. Whatever that clothing item is that just makes you feel a little more you; WEAR IT. It truly changes my whole day around when I am wearing an outfit I feel confident in.
Finding new study spots
I love to switch up where I study. This semester, I have been big on the Bird Library first floor and the Veterans Center. Having cozy study spots makes me actually excited to do my work (believe it or not). I specifically love to include a snack using my dining dollars at Pages in the Bird Library for added encouragement.
Making my room feel like home
I have always been huge on adding little personal touches to my space. Whether it’s a fuzzy blanket, a photo booth picture or a new pillow it makes me love my space so much more.
Intentional alone time
I love to be alone and sometimes at college that feels impossible. But, carving in time just to be with yourself makes me the most present for my friends, classes and everything around me.
Reading other Ugirl articles
I know I’m biased but Ugirl articles are my favorite reads. This really could apply to any magazine or article site, but reading about the newest fashion trends or a fall activity guide truly allows me to take a step back and relax without the drama of real life or stresses of social media.
I hope after reading this you feel a little more grounded and like your life has been romanticized this fall.
