Beat the Heat with These Cool Summer Reads
You won’t want to miss out on these.

Let’s be honest: committing to your summer reading list is easier said than done. I am always daydreaming about my next read — a grab-and-go, something to consume easily on vacation. Here are four page-turning books that are a perfect light read for your next summer getaway. So grab your towel, don’t forget your sunscreen, and let’s find your next great beach read!
It would be silly not to start off this list with a book literally titled Beach Read. By author Emily Henry, the story follows a romance writer who tries to write her next great novel by moving to a lakehouse, which also happens to be next door to her fellow novelist and college rival, Gus. Not only is Beach Read the perfect enemies-to-lovers tale, but it is also a heartwarming story about rediscovering yourself and coming to terms with your past.
The Guest List is a thrilling story about a wedding off the coast of Ireland that turns deadly. Do I have to say more? Each guest has a secret that could cost them their lives. The Guest List leaves you on the edge of your seat and plays a guessing game with you until the very end.
Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney
Normal People’s smarter and funnier older sister. If you’re obsessed with Sally Rooney and Paul Mescal, like I am, say hello to your next read. College student Frances’ world turns upside down when she meets photographer Melissa and her husband Nick. Frances is captivated by their picture-perfect life and, upon spending more time with them, begins to catch feelings for married Nick. While, at times, rooting for Frances is hard to do, Rooney portrays the complexity of love and friendship seamlessly. Plus, there’s a TV adaptation on Amazon Prime starring Joe Alwyn — yep. THAT Joe Alwyn.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
After years of reading down the line, this is still one of my favorite books. Nearing the end of her life, the mysterious old Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo decides it’s time for her story to be told. Through interviews given by undiscovered journalist Monique Grant, Evelyn Hugo finally shares the story of her life, which revolves around the circumstances surrounding each of the seven men she was married to. With elements of love, betrayal, ambition, and glamour, this is THE book to get lost in this summer.
We hope you enjoy one or multiple of these fun summer reads wherever this summer, even in the comfort of your own home!
