How to Handle Your Situationship This Valentine's Day
Is it acceptable to send your hook-up buddy flowers and chocolates?

Valentine’s day paints a perfect picture on the outside; what’s not to love about romantic movies and candy? But with the superficial holiday just around the corner comes the all-consuming question, do I buy my FWB flowers? Whether you and your situationship are single, hooking up, catching feelings, or somewhere in between, Valentine’s Day can feel daunting. May I present: a guide on how to handle every type of situationship during the day of love.
First, there's the “dating but not really dating” relationship…my personal favorite. You two act like you're together. Somehow, you find each other every night, but no labels. This is the relationship that deserves your attention on V-day.
However, if this is a one-sided relationship, do not buy a single thing! You might enjoy their "company," but this situation swerves commitment at ALL COSTS. The only awkwardness is that you aren't dating, and only one of you wants to move things forward. Of course, you'll find yourself stalking them on Snapchat, and you'll notice that the chase is probably the best part. Let this Valentine’s Day become a self-care day. Ditch the toxicity and spend some well-deserved alone time.
On the other hand, you two could mutually agree that whatever you are is perfect. Valentine's Day should be the least of your worries if you guys are on the same page about your relationship. Get what you want from them and go with it! Fist bumps are appropriate in this situation as well.
Valentine’s Day can be a messy mix of love, jealousy, passion, and downright awkwardness. But it doesn’t have to be. Bottom line: Valentine’s Day is completely overhyped. Ditch the stress and relax. If this means spending your night with your friends and a Netflix movie, so be it. Your situationship does not need to define your Valentine’s Day.
