In a couple of weeks, the weather will be below 20 degrees, meaning it's time to start preparing. Fur, puffer, trench, I have you covered for the cutest (and warmest) styles. Being from Ohio and having spent two winters in Syracuse means I know what will keep you warm and stylish.

The Puffer is the most practical. The Aritzia Super Puff has been a staple in my closet for years; this jacket will actually keep you warm even during the coldest of winters. Another pro tip: If you haven't already, GET A PARKA. This will make your life so much easier during the winter. Although this isn’t the cutest option, you can always spice it up with a cute color or pattern. If you don't have the money for a super puff (because who does), there are so many alternatives. Here are some links!

Quince Responsible Down Puffer $150

Old Navy Quilted Long Puffer $60

Fur is in and will actually keep you comfortable in the cold weather. I thrifted a fur coat last year, and I wore it more than my puffer jacket. Paired with a scarf and gloves, it's warmer than you think! There is some controversy when it comes to real vs fake fur. I recommend thrifting fur, as it is the most sustainable option, but I have linked some fur inspiration below for your browsing.

Edikted Mob Wife Faux Fur $60

Trench Coats can either make you look super chic or like a detective. They are perfect for those days when it's not too cold but not too warm. Throw on a chunky sweater or a hoodie underneath, and you’ve got the perfect mix of cozy and put-together. A good trench instantly elevates any outfit - think coffee runs, classes or nights out when you want to look like you actually tried (even if you didn’t). Reach for a classic beige if you’re going for a timeless look, or switch it up with a bold color or leather texture to make it more fun.

Tobie Raglan Trench Coat $74

Day To Night Faux Leather Jacket $115

Double Breasted Belted Coat $100

Let’s talk about the classic coat - the one that’s not super puffy or furry, but still keeps you warm and looking put together. A good classic coat is your go-to for those days when you don’t need a full-on parka, but still want to feel cozy. Think structured wool, tailored fits or longline silhouettes that elevate any outfit. They’re perfect for class, dinner or even interviews when you want to look like you’ve got your life together (even if you’re running on two hours of sleep).

Nicole Short Coat $78

Gina Tricot high neck short jacket $122

Short felt texture coat with voluminous sleeves $90

No matter what your style is, winter fashion doesn’t have to mean sacrificing warmth for cuteness. From puffers that can handle Syracuse winds, to thrifted fur finds, timeless trenches and cute classic coats, there’s a way to stay cozy and look good doing it. The key is layering smart, investing in a few versatile pieces and having fun with textures and colors.
