Athleisure wear has become one of the top trends these last few seasons, with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Gigi Hadid sporting this look. Whether you’re actually going to the gym or just tired of wearing jeans, there are countless ways to stay stylish in workout attire. Carbon 38, Bandier and Lululemon are some popular online sites that specialize in fashion-forward activewear, and ASOS has also recently released its first fitness line.
There are endless options on the market right now, including leggings, sports bras, bombers and even fashion-forward sneakers. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, here are some ways to mix and match the latest athleisure trends based on your personal style.
Minimalist
For the minimalist, black leggings are a MUST. Being new to athleisure wear, it is important to know what brand you feel most comfortable in and which style you prefer. Choose between cropped, high-rise, full-length, and more. With so many different options, there’s something for everyone. Finding leggings is the easy part, but figuring out what to pair them with can often prove challenging. If you’re looking for something simple, try a solid tee or tank. Forever 21 and H&M are great places to look for basics.
Elegant
Stick to pastel colors and matching sets if you’re aiming for a chic and elegant look. This leggings by Bandier are beyond cute, and they have a bunch of other trendy sets and printed leggings. If you’re uncomfortable just rocking a sports bra, you can also achieve this monochromatic look by matching high-rise leggings with a cropped sweatshirt.
Fashion-Forward
Make your leggings the ‘statement piece’ of the outfit by switching up your go-to black pair for ones with mesh panels or cut-outs. There are so many bold, printed leggings out there to choose from, but you can’t go wrong with a simple twist on the classic black staple.
Sporty-Chic
Want to maintain the sporty look? Wear whatever you want to the gym – but keep your outfit trendy by throwing on a cute bomber or windbreaker over it.
Whether your style is minimal, elegant, fashion-forward or sporty-chic, you're bound to find something that you can work while you work out. Athleisure is here to stay, so you might as well make working out as trendy as you are.
