If you are anything like me, you might have a bit of a shopping addiction. Whether it’s makeup, hair care, clothes, shoes or basically anything under the sun… count me in. Lately though, I’ve noticed that while chasing new fashion trends is exciting, I often come short when searching for capsule wardrobe pieces I can actually rely on.

So, I’ve searched my favorite stores for the best staples — because, let’s face it, it’s always the basics that make or break an outfit.

I’ve linked the pieces I personally rewear the most, but these staples are easy to find at tons of stores — and across a wide range of price points.

Aritzia Flourish Top

I’ve been rocking this piece all summer. While it’s a little more unique than the others, thanks to the strap design, it’s still a solid all-around basic. I have it in multiple colors because it seriously matches with everything: skirts, jean shorts, jeans and even business pants. I’m also big on finding pieces that are flattering and comfortable, and the ruching on this one makes it super adjustable and easy to wear.

Superdown jean skirt

Jean skirts are always a ”yes” in my book. I’ve loved them since I was little.  They add a feminine touch and are surprisingly versatile. Pair it with a tank to run errands, then dress it up with a fancier top for dinner. I’ve even used mine as a beach cover-up! This Superdown option is one of the best deals I’ve come across; it’s a great length, great quality and from a brand I trust.

Garage scoop tank

This scoop tank isn’t exactly a hidden gem; it’s been all over social media lately, and for good reason. It instantly elevates your closet and definitely won’t just sit on a hanger. I recently invested in it and have worn it to work out, with shorts and — no joke —as I write this, I’m wearing it with sweats.

Princess Polly linen pants

I love linen pants. They’re the easiest way to feel comfortable and put-together. Whether I’m styling them with a dressier top, or just a casual tee, linen pants have become my summer uniform. I've tried a few different pairs, but the Princess Polly ones remain my favorite thanks to their flattering fit and wide-leg style.

Pacsun jean jacket

A jean jacket is a must in every closet. Just like a denim skirt, it’s one of those staples I’ll never part with. It’s perfect for those breezy summer nights, or for adding a stylish layer to a basic outfit. I love the slightly oversized fit of this one from PacSun — it’s easy to throw over everything from tanks to dresses. The best part? It transitions seamlessly into fall and is the first thing I reach for again when spring rolls around.

Denim forum jean shorts

A great pair of jean shorts instantly boosts anyone confidences. I’ve been wearing the same pair from Denim Forum for over three summers now — and they’re still my go-to. While they're a bit of an investment, the quality holds up. Unlike other shorts, they don’t start shedding or losing shape, making them perfect for many summers to come. I personally like to keep at least four pairs of my favorite’s on hand: two navy, one black and one white. Sticking to core shades means you’ll always have the perfect pair to match any outfit.

Amazon white purse

Every time I pull out this purse, I get questions. People are always shocked (and thrilled) when they hear it’s from Amazon. A white bag is a summer essential — instantly brightening up any outfit. What I love about this one is how effortlessly it goes from the nail salon to a night out to vacation mode. Whenever I need a bag to pull a look together, this one never lets me down.

Cotton on white tee

Plain tees are everything. Whether I’m wearing pants, a skirt or shorts, a white or black tee is the perfect basic. I keep multiples of each in my closet and rotate through them constantly. Sure, plain white tees are available pretty much anywhere, but these cotton ones hit the sweet spot: they are a great quality and are at an even better price point. They’re slightly cropped, so I’d recommend sizing up for a more relaxed fit!

While I love keeping up with summer trends, I’ve realized my outfits always feel more complete when they’re built on reliable staples. Investing in those so-called “basic” (or even “boring”) pieces has never let me down; they’re the items I reach for year after year, and I never get tired of them.
