Cheers to Elsa Hosks’ Collab with Frwd, “Helsa”
The epitome of minimalist style.
by STELLA RINGBLOM ★ SEPTEMBER 20, 2022
Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk just released her new collection with Revolve's luxury brand, Frwd, called Helsa, meaning "good health" in Swedish. The name of the brand not only reflects her Swedish background but also highlights the significance of her healthy balance between fitness and diet. Before diving deep into her new collection, let's break down her style to understand what makes her stand out.
Hosk's style reflects her country-side-tomboy aesthetic and chic Hollywood glamorous girl vibes. By scrolling through her Instagram feed, many may find it hard to replicate her style, considering a lot of the items she wears are all designer. However, if you take a minute to analyze her outfits, it's noticeable that many of them are fairly simple, making it easy to find dupes. Hosk commonly wears brands such as Prada, Chanel, Dior, and Hermes. While purchasing a $1,000 white tank isn't realistic for most, fortunately, websites such as Zara, Princess Polly, and & Other Stories allow us to shop for dupes "on a budget." For example, in the image below, Hosk is completely covered in designer items, but no need to worry; replicating this look is easy.
Here is how to achieve Hosk's airport look on a budget:
Cropped Graphic tee:
With Jéan by far has the comfiest baby tees, and they are on sale. Sprint, don’t walk; I promise they are worth every dollar. If you are looking for a replica of the Dior top, check out Etsy.
Parachute Pants:
Local European is definitely more expensive than the parachutes from Amazon or Motel Rocks, but I have found that the ones from Motel Rocks and Amazon are so incredibly baggy it’s almost hard to walk without tripping.
Black Glasses:
I wanted to link a pair of similar sunglasses from Chimi Eyewear because they are from Hosk’s collaboration with them. The shape is about the same; the only difference is the size. Revolve also has a similar pair to the Dior ones she’s wearing in the picture. Amazon usually has great sunglass dupes; however, I couldn’t find any that looked exactly like Hosk’s, so I linked another pair of black sunglasses that would match this outfit.
Hosk rose to prominence after walking in the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. After the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show ended, Hosk was forced to find other ways to create a name for herself, which she did by becoming one of the world's most famous fashion influencers.
After years of internet influencing, she has finally created a collection that reflects her everyday style. Hosk's collection includes pieces varying from cargo pants to button-ups; she has created a simple yet edgy everyday collection Considering cargo pants are a staple in everyone's closet this fall and winter, I predict many influencers will be spotted wearing her "Wide Cargo Workwear Pant," most likely paired with one of her matching "Jersey Long Sleeve Turtlenecks" or one of her knitted sweatshirts. In addition, her "Poplin Oversized Shirt" will commonly be worn with boots, possibly the famous Ganni "Chelsea Boots." They have endless colors and styles and are super easy to style with anything. Finally, and by far my favorite: the "Denim Overshirt" matched with the "Low Rise Mini Skirt." You all already know that everyone will be pairing this look with ankle socks and Prada or Chanel loafers, making this an ideal early fall outfit.
It's important to note that all her pieces are on the more expensive side, considering this is a collection with Fwrd, but, again, stores like Zara, & Other Stories, will be your best friend if you're trying to find similar, yet, more affordable pieces.
During Hosk's interview with Vogue, she explained the thought process behind her collection, mentioning: “When thinking about the brand I wanted to create, it was very clear it had to be my love letter to Scandinavia. Everything I've taken and learned from growing up there, the nature, art, minimalism, architecture, simplicity, craftsmanship. But also the values, family, feminism, equality, taking care of nature and our earth were all at the forefront of my upbringing, and I wanted Helsa to embody these things” (Bennett). The special meaning behind her collection adds to the excitement around the work she's produced. Helsa couldn't have been released at any better time, with its current drop during New York Fashion Week 2022. I have seen multiple Instagram stories posted by some of my favorite content creators, including Maggie McDonald and Rachel Rakte, well-known YouTubers and Instagram creators. Revolve tends to have “Revolve Around the World” trips for trending influencers. Maggie and Rachel are always invited, which is why it wasn’t surprising when they were spotted at the Revolve gallery during NYFW. After watching their content, I spirited to my computer to put every item in my cart, only to find out that most of the pieces were sold out–shocker.
Throughout this week, Hosk has made daily appearances in her perfectly crafted outfits, which I’m currently on the waitlist for. Hosk poured her heart into this collection, and none of her hard work has gone unnoticed. I'm excited to see what's next in her collection, knowing she has many more ideas under her belt—cheers to Helsa.
