The New Era of ‘Euphoria’ Glam
You thought you’d had enough of rhinestones and glitter in season 1? Think again.

We’re back and better than ever with a new season of HBO’s Euphoria. Euphoria follows the ever-so-dramatic tales of several even more dramatic high school students. Paired with wardrobe and makeup that has forever changed the standards for wearing cutouts and rhinestones, Euphoria has given us an ultra-dramatic look into the lives of your not-so-typical teenagers.
Compared to season one, it is evident that makeup artist Donni Davy toned down the bright color eyeshadows and the intense glitter. In an interview with WWD, Davy described her makeup looks for this season as "emotional glam," and we couldn't agree more. As the characters navigate love, friendship, addiction, and discovering self-identities, their appearances mature with their experiences. Without a doubt, the most stunning beauty moments we've seen in these first two episodes have to be Cassie and Jules.
This season, Cassie is on an emotional roller coaster, dealing with newfound anxiety and panic (thanks to Nate). She is struggling with her identity, trying to become other people just to appeal to Nate. At the New Year’s party, Cassie's glam portrayed her roller coaster of emotions. She wore light face makeup with a touch of rhinestones on her eyes. It accentuated her innocence and made the viewers wonder whether or not she meant to betray her best friend. The jewels allude to her darkening persona, stray away from her old, innocent character.
On the other hand, Jules abandoned her traditional pastel and ultra-feminine look from season one. This time, she is heading for a minimal look with a touch of striking color. It feels like the perfect representation of her discovering her femininity and what she truly wants.
These small details make Euphoria's new season absolutely ~magical~. This show literally has a chokehold on the entirety of Gen Z. Euphoria truly adds depth to the beauty world, and now it's time we discuss how to achieve these looks so you can channel your inner Maddie or Jules.
Let’s start with eyeshadow: If you are in the mood for a rosy pink eye, your best bet is the Huda Beauty: The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. It has a wide range of pinks from mauve to peach, you can't go wrong. If you need an electric violet or a soft lavender eyeshadow, the best palette has to be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Pro Pigment Palette. Of course, you can't forget the rhinestones. I say the best place to look for cosmetic rhinestones would be Amazon. They have tons of options so that you can achieve exactly the look you want!
Euphoria has shown us that there are so many ways to express our creativity, especially when it comes to makeup. You just have to sit through a few episodes, and I promise you will be inspired!
