If you are anything like me, your Super Bowl is the first Monday in May.

It is funny because so much of the Met Gala is kept secret and hidden from us, the fans, yet for fashion girls and me around the world, the outfits alone are enough to keep us entertained for days and talking for weeks.
Personally, I love the Met because it makes me question fashion, gasp at some of the craziest outfits, and swoon over Hollywood’s best looks.
My best friend from Germany just texted me to analyze the different styles we saw photographed all over our feeds, which really proves how far the Met goes, truly getting the entire world talking.
So why do I think the Met holds such importance in our society? First off, the themes are so broad, and the celebrities invited never hold back when it comes to curating a vibe that gets people talking. The brands like Versace, Chanel, and Prada also create looks that are top of the line. But beyond the fashion itself, the hype, mysteriousness, and exclusivity surrounding the Met make it feel almost untouchable, something we wonder about. We only see a glimpse into the night, yet somehow the conversation surrounding it lasts for weeks.
This year specifically sparked conversation by combining both fashion and art. “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” celebrated fashion not just as clothing but as true artistic expression. I thought last year’s outfits were showstopping, but this year truly topped it all.
My personal favorites were Beyoncé, the queen who truly never misses. The diamonds throughout her look felt beautiful and luxurious. Blake Lively looked like a pastel goddess, and the colors were perfect for ringing in the spring season. The look also felt very true to our roots, playing Serena Vanderwoodson in Gossip Girl. And of course, I have to mention Anne Hathaway. I had been waiting for her look following the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, and she delivered: simple yet elegant. The cut of the dress and design were flawless. My favorite and most original look had to have been Teyana Taylor. She had everyone talking, and the silver shimmer truly stole the show. Another look that caused major commotion was Zoë Kravitz. Her lace look immediately had me wanting more lace pieces in my own wardrobe.
The Met will always remain one of the most glamorous events there is. The looks, the chaos, the glamour, and most importantly, the mystery will always keep our heads turning and leave us waiting for the next themes, looks, and best dressed moments.
