Don’t act like Erewhon isn’t all over your For You Page on TikTok too and if it’s not, then you have to read this. Watching these Erewhon haul videos is my guilty pleasure. From the Strawberry Glaze Smoothie (also known as the Hailey Bieber smoothie, but we won’t be referring to it as that) to the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Sandwich, maybe a $60 meal is worth it here.
Erewhon is a health food store chain based in Los Angeles and specializes in healthy, organic, and natural products like food and groceries. All ingredients come from local producers, but what else is there in this market that makes it so special?
Erewhon blew up on TikTok earlier this year as well as other social media platforms as people were raving about the food and drinks and is essentially a store that became the trendiest place in LA. However, this market is known to be a little more on the pricier side. To break it down for you, here are some of the most popular menu items and the prices for each:
Strawberry Glaze Smoothie: $18
Coconut Cloud Smoothie: $18
Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Sandwich: $21
Mason Jar Soups: $16
Erewhon Juice: $16
Buffalo Cauliflower: $19/lbs
Gluten-Free Mac and Cheese: $19/lbs
Yeah…so anyways. The money is beside the point. The store itself is stunning with California girlies who just got out of a morning gym class. The juice and hot food bar is stocked daily with aesthetically pleasing items that are both good for you and luxurious. Influencers on TikTok are posting hauls and mukbangs of items they bought from Erewhon and trying them on camera to get their reaction.
Some influencers who have been involved in this trend include Alix Earle, Carly Weinstein, and Lauren Wolfe. What these influencers had to say about Erewhon was nothing but positive. They say that “It lives up to the hype” and gave it a “12/10” rating. If these popular influencers are saying this about this market, it will influence more people to go out and try it due to the fact that it is trendy and worth it.
Let’s go back to those popular menu items. I’m sure you’ve come to a realization that this Strawberry Glaze Smoothie is by far the most popular item at Erewhon. Why is that? There’s a lot of reasons for that. The aesthetic, I mean c'mon, it’s a gorgeous looking smoothie. The ingredients, there are so many different ingredients that are in this smoothie that makes it so intriguing for everyone to try. Hailey Bieber definitely marketed her drink successfully and in the end, everyone did go out and buy it.
Another popular item that is trending all over TikTok right now is the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Sushi Sandwich. Now this is the one I really cannot argue because I am absolutely dying to try this, it genuinely looks so good and everyone is saying that it truly is as good as it looks. With crispy rice that acts as the bread and spicy tuna filling along with some salmon, avocado, and cucumber, this “sandwich” has become one of the most popular items Erewhon has to offer. I am a sucker for crispy rice and the fact that they turned it into a sushi sandwich…SIGN ME UP!
Lastly, the Buffalo Cauliflower. This vegan side from the hot bar was one of the first items that people were raving about.
Now, as someone who is originally from New York City, there was nobody more excited than I was when I first heard the news about the Erewhon pop-up that will be opening in June. Yes, you heard that right. An Erewhon pop-up in New York City. As a heavily LA-based brand, no one expected them to ever expand outside California so when this was announced, it was pretty big news. Although there’s no further details other than the fact that it’s in NYC and coming in June, I know that we are all ecstatic to try these items - at least I know I am. I don’t care if a smoothie is $18, I will be getting my hands on it and seeing what the hype is about. It might even be $25 in NYC, I will still be buying it.
I’m dying to go to Erewhon and see what the hype is about. Everyone is saying it’s worth it and honestly, I believe them. The food is organic, fresh, and simply good so I am currently preparing for my bank account to be empty.
