The Yeezus Thesis
I hate the new Kanye, the bad mood Kanye, the always rude Kanye, spaz in the news Kanye.

Let’s do something Kanye would love and talk about Kanye!
We all know Kanye is a ~free spirit~. From interrupting acceptance speeches to running a political campaign, Ye never lets us breathe. But this recent stint is rather shocking, even for him. What first started with requesting his child, North West, be kept off of TikTok has now culminated in a new nickname for Syracuse heartthrob, Pete Davidson, or as Kanye has coined: “Skete Davidson.”
His rant has been entertaining, to say the least. Between his all-capital, lengthy captions on Insta and desire to reunite his family, he’s emptying the ol’ think tank. One of his posts includes photoshopping Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War poster (with him as Captain America, of course). Random, right?
(I quickly wanted to point out the irony of Kanye West making himself Captain America. You know, the self-righteous one who preaches about being a team and then fights everyone on said team. The man is a real poet.)
You might think there couldn’t be anything else, naturally, but the drama never ends. He has accused followers of being insta bots because they’re speaking Turkish and demanded Billie Eilish apologize to Travis Scott. And as of February 14th at 8:12 pm, he is now posting his and Kim’s text threads.
As hilarious as “Skete Davidson” is, what’s up with Kanye?
He seemed happy with actress and muse for Uncut Gems, Julia Fox, and even styled her. So what could the problem be? Oh wait, I know! Kanye is upset that Kim moved on. Shocking (not really).
Before rumors that Pete began dating his ex-wife (or current wife?) Kim K, Ye was chilling. But now that Kim is out and about, Kanye thinks it’s appropriate to go on several harsh Instagram tangents. It seems as if he is threatening his family more than protecting or trying to reunite them. He’s not just subtweeting Kim anymore. In fact, he brought Kid Cudi and Chet banks into the mix as well. He even admitted to going back to the studio to rework a song that featured Kid Cudi on Donda 2.
None of this is particularly too outrageous for Kanye, although, he usually limits his rants to the world, or the Grammys, or the media, or the government, or Taylor Swift (the one he “made famous” *eye roll*), or buying the earth. Now that he’s shifted to antagonizing his wife, sisters-in-law, and a close friend, it all feels a bit out of place. Do I even need to point out how different the narrative would be if Kim acted like this over the divorce? If Kim admitted to refusing to co-operate in the separation, people would call her hysterical and irrational. If she said anything about either of the women Kanye has publicly, and strangely, turned into Kim look-a-likes, it would be called World War 3.
Divorce is something that should be handled privately between two people and their legal teams, but in Kanye fashion, he gets the whole world involved. Maybe Kanye doesn’t realize the paradox of his actions? Perhaps he doesn’t see that begging for his family to be reunited while dating other people is, um, a unique approach. Maybe once he gets away from Instagram, things will finally work out with Kim.
Wake up, Mr. West. And please, stop the caps lock.
