Love is in the Air, but is Jesse Rutherford The Bad Guy?
The latest on the new relationship between Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford.

The rumors are going ‘round, and it appears that they are officially true… not only were Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford pictured sharing a smooch in Studio City earlier this month, but the paparazzi have also caught them on several outings together. The pair have now been seen out at dinner together in LA, at Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood, and more recently, cozying up and making out in Studio City. Following Halloween weekend, Billie shared a post to Instagram, which featured a video of Rutherford dressed up as a clown and a picture of the two all dolled up for the spooky holiday. Interestingly enough, an inside source of Billie’s said that the “chemistry” between the two is “electrifying,” and that the age gap between Billie and Jesse is of “no concern” to her. Eilish is 20 years old; Jesse is 31 years old.

Previously, Rutherford was dating model and “Wildflower” entrepreneur Devon Lee Carlson from 2015-2021. Fans speculated that the couple had broken up after noticing that Devon had removed the iconic “Jesse’s girlfriend” from her TikTok bio. The hot model girlfriend and rockstar boyfriend die-hard duo were well-loved by literally everyone, and their breakup came as a shock to many people on the Internet. Unfortunately, the ex-couple has not given many details on why they broke up, and many fans are still wondering what happened. Devon confirmed their break up on Alex Cooper’s famous CHD podcast but never stated why. Their split happened in November of 2021.

Finneas, Eilish’s brother and a good friend of Jesse’s, has said that he “approves of” the new relationship between Rutherford and his younger sister. Regardless, many of Billie’s fans are expressing some extent of concern for her relationship with the rockstar, mainly because of Billie and Jesse’s 11-year age gap. Concerning Eilish’s recent Instagram post from Hallo-weekend, her comment section is filled with people slamming her for being with Rutherford due to their age gap. On Twitter, fans and users have reacted by saying, “What could a 31-year-old man have in common with a 20-year-old girl?” and “Why can’t men date someone their own age?” (everyone remembers when Leonardo DiCaprio dated Camila Morrone, who was 22 years younger than him).
To be fair, Eilish does have a long history of dating older guys, including actor Matthew Tyler Vorce, who’s currently 31 years old, and rapper Brandon “Q” Adams, who’s currently 43 years old. Even more, Jesse and Billie have been friends for years. The Neighborhood’s lead singer has known Billie since she was only 15 years old and just starting off her career as a musician. This does seem a little odd when looking in retrospect, especially since Jesse was 26 at the time, but if Billie is happier than ever, shouldn’t we be too?

Sources close to Billie have claimed that she is very happy and has grown and changed a lot in the past years, so she is happy to be with someone who loves music-making just as much as she does. Truthfully, Billie’s happiness over everything, and we can’t say the two musicians don’t make a very talented, cute pair.
