Let’s face it, whether it’s a Snapchat selfie or an edited Instagram picture, we have all struggled to capture that perfect photo. While we constantly snap pictures, it can be difficult to find the best places to take them.
Fortunately, there are great places on Syracuse University’s campus that will step up your SnapChat and Instagram game. With such a beautiful campus, your next Instagram picture will practically take itself. Here is a definitive list of the best places to take pictures on campus.
1. The Dome
Whether it’s a basketball, football game or lacrosse game, the dome is always filled with fans and is the perfect spot for a photo shoot. With the orange crowd in the background, you are sure to make everyone back home jealous of our school spirit. Make sure to wear your cutest Syracuse outfit and capture this moment.
2. The Syracuse Sign
Do you really go to Syracuse if you haven’t taken a photo in front of the Syracuse sign? Located directly in front of the Hall of Languages, this spot may be one of the most iconic locations on campus. This shot will surely be one you hold onto forever. Whether it’s your first day or your last, be sure to stop by this campus hotspot to remind everyone that you bleed orange.
3. The Quad
Let’s be honest. With the weather getting warmer, more people can be found on the quad than in the classroom. The quad is a perfect place to take pictures and prove to everybody that Syracuse is not a tundra 24/7. Bonus points if you find a dog to take the picture with.
4. Tapestry
Snowed in? No problem. Dorm lighting and cinder block backgrounds are not ideal for photos, but is where you will end up taking most pictures throughout college. Transform any dull dorm room picture with a tapestry to make an artsy background.
5. Hendricks Stairs
On any sunny day, you will find tons of people doing work on the steps of Hendricks. This location, which has been around for years, never gets old. You may even see a bride and groom tying the knot on the red carpet. Perfect for the sun or snow, these steps are a great place to show off a trendy outfit.
6. Hall of Languages
Everyone loves a good scenic picture and the Hall of Languages is just that. Covered with red leaves in the Fall and a blanket of snow in the Winter, this photogenic location is perfect for showing your Instagram followers how beautiful SU is.
7. Window at castle
Debatably one of the coolest places to take a picture on campus, Castle Court is the go-to destination for game days. Not only do you get to show off your dope tailgate attire, but also all of the people who are bleeding orange too!
It’s clear you don’t need to be professional photographer to take amazing pictures at SU. Whether taken on a real camera or an iPhone, photos taken at these locations will definitely step up your photo game. Next time you go to take a picture in a dimly lit dorm room hallway, remember these places!
