It’s 9:00 pm, you just finished your hair… you’re staring at your closet trying to figure out what to wear. Your pre-party starts at 10:00, and even though you just bought 7 new tops, you have nothing in your closet. You want to wear something that makes you feel like the hottest version of yourself. Well look no further, here is your ultimate frat fashion guide. This guide includes pieces that you will actually wear for months and that will withstand all the dancing, pictures, and even some strides of pride the morning after (we’ve all been there... right?).
Ladies in Lace
What better way to feel sexier than in lace? I know that putting on anything lace makes me feel super girlie, feminine, and sexy. If that’s your vibe or you want it to be, then lace will become your new best friend. Lace tops are such an underrated way to feel dainty but hot at the same time. You can be bold and wear a lace bra top, be chic and pair it under a white tank or see-through shirt, or you can be casual and pair it with some cute jeans. If you want to splurge, For Love and Lemons has great lace options, but if you don’t want to spend that much, Oh Polly and Nasty Gal are the way to go.
Leather Mania
Leather has taken over frats, and I am definitely not mad about it! Whether you're rocking leather pants or a leather bustier, or even being a bad a** in both, leather exudes a boss mentality. I’m telling you, if you’re ever having an off night, where you’re not feeling your hottest (it happens to the best of us), throw on a leather look, and you will feel like HOT shit! I.AM.GIA has some amazing options, but I also love Maniére De Voir, or even Dolls Kill if you’re feeling really edgy.
Corset Craze
I am a sucker for a good corset. I just think they are super flattering and can make anyone feel 10x more confident. You put it on and instantly look super snatched in all the right places, and they go perfect with any bottoms (jeans, shorts, leather pants, etc.). Corsets are the perfect top to wear out to frats because they hold everything in place and also look super hot! Peek-a-boo Pants and Tops
Cutouts have been huge in fashion for a while now, and peek-a-boo cutouts are going to be around for a while! I think if done right, they are super hot and flattering. I love a good cut-out pant moment and have even been loving it in some tops! They will also keep you cool from the sweaty “frat-mosphere.” Princess Polly and Dolls Kill have some amazing cut-out pant options, and I love Superdown, Zara, PrettyLittleThing, and LF (which is currently having a huge sale right now!).
I really think there is only one key secret to dressing for a frat: feeling your hottest and most confident self. Take a risk and try something new like an all-leather look, or dress dainty and feminine in a lace ensemble.
