Ways to Improve Your Game Day Outfit

Outfit ideas that will be sure to have you looking tailgate ready.

Finding a new game day outfit every weekend that looks cute and shows your school spirit can be a daunting task. And honestly, I feel like it’s practically illegal to wear the same thing twice. However, there are a few simple ways to make your outfit stand out, keep up with the current trends, and rep Syracuse at the same time. Go Orange!

Playsuits

One-piece playsuits or rompers have been all the rage this fall. They are not only cute, but super comfortable, and eliminate some of the stress that comes with picking out both a top and bottom to wear. Umm? What could be better than that?! There are also tons of affordable styles available on Amazon, so you won’t have to break the bank buying one. (OMG, Count me in!)

Colorful Eye Makeup

I used to be extremely intimidated by the idea of colorful makeup, and honestly did not try out any eye makeup at all that wasn’t mascara. However, with practice, it becomes a lot easier and it’s a great way to enhance your look. For affordable options, I love the Makeup Revolution brand. They sell tons of palettes, glitters, and more. Colourpop and NYX also have plenty of options for colorful eyeliner. Whenever I add a pop of color to my eyes, I always get compliments and I feel extremely confident with the way it looks too.

Fun Jewelry and Sunglasses

Accessories can make or break an outfit. Adding something as simple as jewelry or sunglasses really makes it look like you put in some effort, especially if you just woke up for the tailgate 30 minutes ago (We’ve all been there!). A cute and cheap pair of sunglasses can make outfits look dope and are practical at the same time. You honestly could find them anywhere. I recommend checking out Amazon because they have almost any kind you could think of! Try finding either blue or orange ones to match with your gameday fit. You’ll totally look like a bad b*tch!

Fun Hair and Accessories

Considering my mom did my ponytails all throughout high school, it is safe to say I was intimidated by any type of hairstyle beyond that. However, experimental hairstyles can make you look more composed. Simple hairstyles like braids, curls, and pigtails can really turn your look around. Plus, putting your hair up minimizes the possibility of people noticing that you didn’t wash it after going out last night. What a lifesaver! Even clips can add an adorable touch and are easy to throw in your hair. They’re perfect for the next game day!

Baby Tees, Oversized Jerseys, Fun Pants

As we all know, jerseys, basic Cuse tees, and a pair of jeans would be considered the standard outfit to show your school pride at a football game. However, elevating these basic pieces can have a big effect. Try swapping out a t-shirt with a baby tee or kids-sized shirt. You can even try layering them to suit the colder days and give your fit a trendier, “Y2K” feel. Replacing your normal size in shirts with oversized jerseys (Making you look like you don’t have pants on!) can also evolve a boring look into a more appealing fit. Additionally, pants have definitely become a lot more advanced in the past few years. In order to make your game day outfit more trendy, focusing on a fun pair of pants is a great place to start. If you let the pants do the talking, all that is needed is a basic tank. I have had to hold myself back from spending hundreds of dollars on orange pairs of pants in the past couple of weeks, so I know there are tons of options out there.

Quick and easy changes like these will make sure to have you look well suited for the next Cuse game. It is important to have fun and feel confident in whatever you wear! Stay trendy!
