How To Dress Up Athleisure

Don’t sweat it, we’ve got you covered.

After spending months in quarantine with no excuse to get out of our pajamas, it’s no wonder we are all still looking for some comfort in our everyday looks. Instead of sticking to sweats and fuzzy socks, many of us have transitioned to the world of athleisure: casual, comfortable clothing designed for both exercise and everyday wear. However, this level of comfort isn’t always appropriate for your Zoom meetings or daily outings. That’s why UGirl is here to help you dress up your athleisure by adding a few key accessories!

Adding a Heel

Sometimes all you need to take your comfy outfit to the next level is to add a little height. It’s amazing what going from sneakers and joggers to heels and joggers can do, especially if you pick the right ones. The heels can help dress up leggings or joggers, and both can be paired with a comfy sweater or tank to complete the look!

Throwing on the Perfect Coat

Another way to dress up your athleisure is to add the perfect coat! The dressier the coat is, the more casual and comfy you can be underneath, which is always the goal! One type that works perfectly is a trench coat. The trench coat can be best pulled off when it adds a pop of color to the outfit. For instance, if your comfy clothes underneath are all black, try adding a tan coat on top to complete the look!

Make it Monochrome

Taking any boring, casual outfit and turning it monochrome can be exactly what you need to take your style to the next level. A white tank top paired with black sweatpants is a classic look, but a white tank top paired with white sweatpants is a sleek new take. This amplification can even work with bright colors to add more excitement to your look!

Dump on the Jewelry

One last resort for making your couch clothes become your work clothes is your jewelry! The more jewelry you can throw on top of your sweatshirt the better; layering will be your best friend. Whether silver or gold better fits your skin tone, either will work to dress up the look. Add big earrings, multiple necklaces, and statement rings. This allows you to draw attention to your bling and away from your casual clothes!

Just because months of quarantine have made us reluctant to leave our comfy clothes, doesn’t mean we can’t learn to jazz it up as we continue to reenter the world! Hopefully one of these ideas will inspire you to get back into your daily routines feeling comfy and confident!
