June 13, 2024 marked the launch of another Fenty brand to add to the growing list. Beginning with the launch of the world's current most successful celebrity beauty brand, Fenty Beauty, followed by the launch of Savage x Fenty in 2018, Fenty Skin in 2020, Fenty Fragrance in 2021, and now Fenty Hair aimed at a “new era of repair.” Needless to say, the Fenty Queen has channeled her lyrics “work, work, work, work, work” into becoming one of the fiercest businesswoman of our generation, accumulating a billion dollar empire focussed on her vision of beauty for all.

Fenty Hair stays true to this vision, as a message from Rihanna is displayed on the website’s central page under the words “for all-truly:” "From my curly people to those who love protective styles, to those with straight or wavy hair, there’s something for you.” Along with the unifying message across all Fenty brands, Rihanna holds a personal connection with Fenty Hair and has even been dubbed as the ultimate “hair chameleon” by Glamour magazine. From pixie cuts to bobs to the sleek ponytail showcased at the 2023 Super Bowl, Rihanna has done it all in terms of hairstyles. In the official press release, Rihanna explained the importance of her hairstyles, noting them to be “markers” of her evolution over the years. Considering her passion for hair, fans were left to wait four years until the “hair chameleon” was ready to release her clean vegan, sulfate-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and DEA-free collection (that's a lot of frees), which according to her Instagram (@badgirlriri) was tested on over 400 people.

So, let’s get into all the details of this highly-anticipated collection.

As of late, Fenty Hair includes nine fairly inexpensive products: The Side Stick 3-1 Edge Styling Tool ($18), The Protective Type 5-in-1 Heat Protectant Styler ($28), The Homecurl Curl-Defining Cream ($28), The Rich One Moisture Repair Conditioner ($29), The Richer One Moisture Repair Deep Conditioner ($29), The Rich One Moisture Repair Shampoo ($29), The Gelly Type Strong Hold Gel ($26), The Comeback Kid Instant Damage Repair Treatment ($36), and The Controlling Type Hair-Thickening Edge Control Gel ($18).

Each product, including the stylers, is packed with the complex Replinicore-5 to accomplish the goal of strengthening and repairing any type of hair through targeting split ends and breakages. For those who are wondering what exactly Replinicore-5 is, we have got some answers. To break down Replinicore-5 into simpler terms, it is composed of the following ingredients— Barbados Gooseberry, Upcycled Jackfruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Green Tea Extract and Amino Acids. These nutrients give Replinicore-5 its purpose of promoting healthy hair.

Rihanna didn’t just stop to focus on the ingredients; instead, she set forth on finding the perfect luxurious scent that would make anyone unable to stop smelling their hair throughout the day, and as Rihanna adds, “when you lay next to your boo at night.” Rihanna defines the scent as a warm, ambery floral with subtle notes of golden amber, lemon and sparkling yuzu, freesia, coconut and lily.

Finally, to make things even better, Rihanna desired sustainable packaging made out of post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. Similar to the products’ bright scents, the products are dressed in bright outwear with shades of pastels and textured tops for the purpose of providing a sensory cue when consumers are reaching for their shampoo or conditioner in a steamy or perhaps sud-filled eyes shower.

Of course, fans have taken to this launch with mixed emotions. While some are upset over the fact that Rihanna chose pursuing a hair line over a new album, most are excited to see the Fenty brand continue to thrive. The success of the Fenty brand is inevitable, and the decision to add Fenty Hair to the mix has only made Rihanna more of an icon in terms of redefining the beauty industry into a more inclusive haven forever. We encourage you all to try Fenty Hair for yourselves and discover the strength, repair, and enchanting aroma Rihanna worked so hard to achieve.
