Give me a pizza that.

When you’re in Italy, it is an absolute necessity to splurge on food. Trust us when we say the food in Italy is far better than your go-to Italian place in America. Overwhelmed by the amount of restaurants and not sure where to start? Here are the first five restaurants in Florence you need to check out.
Acqua al 2
When you walk into Acqua all’Due, you instantly admire the walls adorned with hand-painted plates. Its most famous dish? Blueberry steak. Although you may think that combination sounds a bit weird, it is quite delicious. Not to mention, the mashed potatoes are to-die-for. If you are a regular and become friends with the owner, you may even get your own Acqua all’Due T-shirt! Before you leave, definitely share the tiramisu and cheesecake with your girlfriends.
Trattoria 13 Gobbi
With old pictures and wine bottles on display, Trattoria 13 Gobbi creates a charming, authentic environment. All dishes get served on beautifully painted plates. One hundred percent, you have to order the rigatoni. As its signature dish, the rigatoni should be bolded in red on the menu. Even though it is such a simple dish, the rigatoni in red sauce with buffalo mozzarella is mouthwatering. Accompanied by a glass of red wine, this will be one of your favorite meals in Florence.
Gusta Pizza
You have certainly seen this famous heart-shaped pizza all over your Insta feed. Across the Arno, this restaurant is known for making amazing, aesthetically pleasing pizzas. After you devour the margarita pizza, give the pesto pizza a try if it’s on the “specials” board. And remember, your phone must always eat first!
Golden View Open Bar
Looking for a restaurant with a view? Located along the Arno, the Golden View Open Bar features a beautiful close-up view of the Ponte Vecchio. Treat yourself to a glass of wine, and enjoy the view. Although this spot is a bit more expensive than other options, the view is unbeatable. In fact, it will seem like you are looking through a green screen at first.
Inferno
You already know most of Florence is Insta-worthy, and this restaurant does not disappoint. Upon entering, green velvet benches and checkered chairs grab your eyes. Because the main dish portions are on the smaller side, definitely order an appetizer or two. The highlight of your meal will be the dessert if you choose wisely. Make sure to order the dessert special where you get to try a little bit of everything. Inspired by Florence's center, this dish is decorated so beautifully that you may even feel a little guilty ruining the aesthetic of it! And don’t forget to check if there is anything hidden underneath the Duomo and Cathedral. There may be a few complimentary shots underneath!
Looking to get a drink before a GNO? Enjoy live music here on Thursday nights while grabbing a drink at the elegant bar. If you show your student ID, the bartender should give you a student discount on signature cocktails.
