Do you ever feel like some digital apps leave you drained and unproductive?
Specifically, interactive social media apps like Instagram and TikTok, where we are constantly scrolling or falling into rabbit holes for hours on end. The truth is, some digital spaces affect our mental state and our minds become consumed with comparison-driven and overwhelming content. Instead of consuming, start curating what you want to see rather than what the algorithm decides to show you.
Stop Consuming, Start Creating
When you start exploring your creativity rather than looking at others for inspiration, it feels personal. We feel inspired and motivated to make changes in our lives, whether that’s a new fashion style, a job you want to manifest, a healthier lifestyle or an aesthetic you want to give off.
The Beginner’s Guide to Making Mood Boards Productive
Put in some headphones and turn on your favorite playlist or listen to your favorite music artist. Music makes mood boards exciting and I believe it sparks imagination and expressiveness.
Steer away from trends, instead reflect on your emotion and the energy you want to attract. Vision boards should come from your originality, not trying to copy off other people’s aesthetics.
Visual boards should be used as a motivation, not to sit there. Start taking inspiration from your boards by making small changes. Try on an outfit inspired from it, cook a healthy meal you saved or test out a new makeup look.
The Outcome
Your digital space should inspire you, not drain you. Your screen time should start being used as a way to create and explore yourself. Your mood board should not be just pretty pictures, but a way to uplift your energy and manifest who you want to become. Take this time to log off and start building the vision you want for your personal goals and future.
