Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour proved that post concert depression is a real thing. Her captivating performance quality, intense dance moves and relatable lyrics made this concert one like no other; she is what pop music is all about.

For those who don’t know, McRae is an artist who began her career as a competitive dancer before transitioning to song writing. She danced competitively for approximately five years before she auditioned for Fox Network’s, “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation,” where she performed extremely well and became  one of the more daunting competitors. Eventually, she began channeling her creativity through singing and songwriting, and began sharing songs on YouTube through a series called “Create with Tate.” During this series this is when she created and produced a song called “you broke me first,” that completely changed the trajectory of her career. Ever since then she has continued producing songs that have hit record breaking numbers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with her most recent being “TIT FOR TAT,” ranking third in October of this year.

Beyond McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour, she has currently been in the spotlight due to her recent relationship, and breakup, with The Kid LAROI, a famous artist best known for his song “STAY”. While the two were dating, they collaborated on a song called “I know love,” where they explore some topical points in their relationship.. Throughout the duration of this relationship, both McRae and Laroi fanbases united, showing their support for both artists.. However, this only lasted for so long before the two broke up officially in July of 2025, with Laroi claiming to have left the relationship on good terms.

Tate’s new song,“TIT FOR TAT,” seems to be targeting Laroi for potentially cheating during their relationship. She writes, “Last night, she answered my call, it sealed the deal. Right now I’m not even about you,” putting him on blast for his infidelity and having another girl answer his phone. Her performance of this song has truly shown what Larori is missing out on– a triple threat with a stage presence like no other.

What truly makes McRae so iconic is the energy she brings to performances. Her choreography, along with her vocals, truly makes her a force to be reckoned with in the pop music world. Recently she performed at the VMAs for the first time, and made history on that stage. Right after her public break up, she took the  moment to show everyone that she’s doing even better without her ex. She opened the performance singing one of her most popular songs, “Revolving Door,” then transitioning into  her infamous song, “Sports Car,”all while dancing in a sandbox. Her provocative and eye-capturing performance really sealed the deal on who she is, and how much she can bring to the table. If you ever need a confidence boost, or an outlet to get over an ex, look no further than the queen of pop herself!
