I Would “Die for You”... Again.

This iconic duo is not done just yet.

Thursday night, we got yet another remix from the incredible voices of Ariana Grande and The Weekend, and I cannot stop listening. The iconic duo is known to be some of the biggest artists in our generation today. They have created countless successful projects together, and this was definitely one of the best.

It all started with a teaser. Ariana Grande posted on her TikTok a day before the announcement where she is seen singing the vocals of “Die For You” and said, “Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set.” Fans went absolutely crazy. The Weeknd then reposted that TikTok to his Instagram, and that’s when they both made the official announcement.

On Wednesday, both The Weeknd and Grande posted on their Instagram a picture of the new single with the caption “tomorrow night” with their handles attached. A remix of “Die For You” by the Weeknd that was featured on his 2016 hit album, Starboy, was released on February 24. I know I’m not the only one who has been playing it on repeat.

The question, however, is why create a remix almost seven years after the original release date? The answer: TikTok. When “Die For You” was first released, fans claimed this song to be “underrated,” including me. This was one of my favorite Weeknd songs, and no one seemed to know what “Die For You” was. Thanks to TikTok and our generation, users have made this song so popular and turned it into a trendy song for users to use on TikTok. It became so popular that “Die For You” made it back on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, and with the remix now out, both the original and the remix will gain even more popular than it already has. Expect to see this song climb to number one soon.

After hit collabs like “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s second album, My Everything, “Off The Table” from Grande’s 2020 album, Positions, and the fan favorite, a remix to “Save Your Tears” which is featured on The Weeknd’s hit album, After Hours, fans never want to see this collaboration come to an end. Wait, why do I secretly ship? With all their songs being successful hits, it just proves that when these two work together, it’s truly like magic, and people are happier than ever to see that there will be another one added to the collection.
