Hi Barbie!
The Barbie movie has completely dominated pop culture this summer. Whether it’s TikTok trends, or creative advertisements, Barbie pink is everywhere. Due to the release of the iconic film, many companies hopped on the Barbie train and started to collab with Mattel. Of course, they’ve created some of the most iconic we’ve seen to date. The list goes on, and I would be here for hours. So, let’s go through some of the most iconic collaborations. This list ranges from clothing, to food, and even houses. Obviously, they are all pink.
Barbie x Lush
The Barbie x Lush Collection debuted in August when Lush announced a limited edition collection — inspired by the Barbie Movie. These products leave you with soft and glittery skin. There are products such as pink ‘B’ shaped bath bombs, Barbie’s car-shaped bubble bars, pink shampoos, and more cosmetics screaming Barbiecore.
Barbie x Cold Stone
This ice cream does, in fact, have glitter in it. Cold Stone collaborated with the Barbie movie, and created a special ice cream completely dedicated to the film, and let me just tell you, she’s gorg. This flavor includes a pink cotton candy ice cream base with graham cracker pie crust, “dance party” sprinkles (no idea what that means, but I love it), and a whipped topping. YUM.
Barbie x Crocs
I personally am not a fan of Crocs, but for those who are, aren’t these sick? Featuring a glitter sole, floral details, and topped with the Barbie logo, Barbie-themed Jibbitz charms, like a shimmery pink disco ball, you will be rocking these Crocs all day every day. Our inner younger self is screaming.
#4: Barbie x OPI
You might think that OPI would release a single pink nail polish dedicated to Barbie…but nope! The brand went above and beyond with a whole Barbie collection of colors; OPI will definitely ensure that your nails will be sparkling! There are colors ranging from pink to blue to yellow and even glitter in the collection, and they are stunning.
#5: Barbie x Swoon
This collaboration is one of my favorites because of the reason why it was created. The founder of Swoon, Jen Ross, is Type 1 diabetic; therefore, she wanted to create a drink that made people feel happy and healthy. The Barbie movie is all about women's empowerment, so she created a Barbie-inspired pink lemonade Swoon beverage to illustrate that.
#6: Barbie x Burger King
A pink burger has been created. Yup, you heard that right. Burger King released a pink Barbie-themed meal that includes the star of the show (the pink burger, of course), a side of Ken Potatoes (which are just plain fries, hence “He’s just Ken"), and a pink milkshake.
#7: Barbie x Zara
We have seen numerous clothing collaborations with Barbie this summer but I think it’s safe to say that Zara was the one that really popped off. Zara recently created a whole pop-up in their NYC store to dedicate their newly released Barbie collection, and let me tell you, the clothes are ridiculously cute, just like something Margot Robbie would wear in the movie. On top of that, the store was decked out with stickers, photo booth props, and even a pink carpet. How chic.
#8: Barbie x Moon
It’s time I invest in a pink toothbrush and I think Moon is perfect. Moon is an electric toothbrush brand, so you can assume what they have created. You guessed it, a pink electric toothbrush where you can channel your inner Barbie with the toothbrush and a sparkly pink bubble mint toothpaste. I need that. Like hellooooo sparkly pink toothbrush? Sign me up.
#9: Barbie x Pinkberry
I tried this, and let me tell you, it’s delicious. Who wouldn’t love a dragon fruit-flavored frozen yogurt with sparkly sprinkles?? You cannot tell me the themed cup isn’t the cutest thing ever to match the fruit flavored pink yogurt. Definitely very appropriate and on brand for (Pink)berry.
#10: Barbie x Airbnb
We saved the best for last: a Barbie-inspired house - no, this isn’t a joke. Located in Malibu, California, this is the true dream house. Barbie and Airbnb have teamed up for fans to live out their inner Barbie by living in the dreamhouse. The “Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse” is offered only from Sunday, October 27 to Tuesday, October 29, for one lucky fan to win a two-night stay for just $60 a night. The dreamhouse includes a water slide, movie theater, infinity pool, sports court, meditation area, hobby studio, fully-stocked kitchen, and a walk-in closet packed with life-sized Barbie clothes from its iconic 60-year career.
As I only listed ten collaborations with Barbie, there are too many to continue. Every single one is so creative to me, and my head turns every time I see the color pink now. This iconic movie will go down in history as one of the most influential films to premiere, along with the crazy collaborations and products Mattel and Barbie have created.
