An icon in the making.

From creating funny videos on TikTok to working the high fashion runway, Alex Consani has had an incredible growing popularity on the internet that needs to be talked about more. She has been in countless photos for Vogue and walked for the biggest shows like Tom Ford, Versace, Givenchy, and many, many more. However, she didn’t just become a sensation overnight. Consani has had a growing popularity since 2020, when she first launched her TikTok. Her large following with over 300,000 Instagram followers and over 1.3 million followers on TikTok has allowed her to give her fans the inside scoop of her humor and personality, as well as what it’s like to be a model.
Alex Consani began her modeling career in 2015, and her reason? She felt there was a lack of trans representation in the modeling industry. Consani’s goal was to show people in the trans and non-binary communities that being who you are is beautiful. Shortly after modeling for a few years, she signed with her agent in 2018 and finally signed with IMG Models, one of the top modeling agents, the following year. Ever since then, she has been climbing to the top at New York, Paris, and Milan Fashion Week.
Consani launched her TikTok account (@captincroook) in 2020 over quarantine, and it all took off from there. Once she realized the videos were doing well, she continued to make them.
In a 2022 interview with Vogue, she was asked, “What’s the next big idea you want to tackle on TikTok?” Alex replied, “I just want to be able to talk to my audience openly and give room in my platform to grow and mature. I believe focusing on those moments of joy or sadness or any emotion I hold in my videos allows me to create a more sincere and direct connection with people watching.” Consani will be continuing to post her humorous videos on TikTok to keep that connection she has with her fans.
A HUGE runway Alex Consani is taking on this year is the returning Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. In 2018, Victoria’s Secret notoriously let it become known that they are a noninclusive brand and have no interest in working with models of different sizes or transgender models. Now, after a four-year break, VS has changed its brand, becoming much more inclusive for all models. Consani will make an incredibly positive impact, representing the trans community on the VS runway and empowering the LGBTQ+ community.
