A new epidemic is here, and Miles Teller is the culprit. Along with the new Top Gun movie came the debut of Miles Teller’s new mustache… and our obsession with it.

Miles Teller’s character, Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, has won TikTok and the rest of the world over through his charm and superstar sex appeal. While this was expected, one unexpected obsession viewers of Top Gun: Maverick have is with one particular part of his look: the mustache.

The rave about Teller started with him taking over everyone’s For You Page with videos of that one scene we all know and love (pictured below), to the Top Gun classic song, “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin.

Shortly after the numerous trending videos of Teller’s sexy slo-mo dance, the discussion started to shift to his mustache. People started to replicate his look, and now men everywhere are scrambling to achieve the 70’s mustache that maybe should’ve been left in the past.

Actors in Hollywood in addition to Miles Teller have also been attempting to bring back the look such as Dacre Montgomery in Stranger Things and Chris Evans in his new Netflix show, The Gray Man.

Although this look is HOT on (most of) Hollywood men, it takes a lot to make it work IRL and without a full-on glam team.

The “pornstache” originally grew to be popular in the 70s and was used to define masculinity for a long time. It slowly died down as fewer people started to show interest in it, but now with the uprising of characters with this look, it’s back as a summer staple for many people.

Men on TikTok are going to extreme lengths in order to look like Miles Teller, are they forgetting that they don’t have the rest of his face? This trend of copying the “It Boy” of the season brings me back to everyone copying Timothée Chalamet’s dance from Call Me by Your Name, and frankly, we don’t need a repeat of that.

Even if you’re not the biggest fan of the pornstache on faces other than Miles Teller’s, there’s stopping your boyfriend or your fratty situationship who you love to hate and hate to love.

If you or your loved ones want to achieve the look, read this how-to guide from Inside Hook. Good luck!
