Breaking News: Olivia Rodrigo Makes An Iconic Visit To The White House

Yesterday, pop-sensation, actress, and role model, Olivia Rodrigo, (who we LOVE) made a surprise visit to the White House. She took to the podium during a press briefing to encourage young people that vaccinations are “Good 4 U” (see what I did there?!). She told the press, “I’m in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help lend my support to this important initiative.” Wow, not only does she use her voice for singing, she uses it to fight for what she believes in.

Okay, but can we please talk about this outfit?! Looking show-stopping as always, Olivia wore a vintage pink Chanel suit from the Spring 1995 collection with Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels showing off her more mature side. Cher from Clueless, is that you? We DEF approve. She even contrasted the look’s pop of pink with a black mini purse and black matching socks. Elle Woods would be so proud right now.
Earlier in the week, Joe Biden posted a photo of himself on Instagram from years ago, saying that if he was still young he’d make sure to get the vaccine and asking, “Who’s willing to help?” Not too long after, Olivia slid into his comment section saying “i’m in! see you tomorrow at the white house!” (in all lower-case letters, ofc). Biden later went to Instagram after her visit to say, “Thanks for stopping by, Olivia.” No, thank you for this iconic moment.

The two shared some fun pictures wearing aviator sunglasses, looking cooler than ever. Olivia took to Instagram as well, sharing her amazing time at the White House. She made sure to say “thank you to everyone who has done their part in helping end this pandemic and thank you to President Biden, Vice President Harris, Dr. Fauci, and everyone at the White House for having me...” Our queen also shared an educational video about getting the vaccine. Biden ultimately turned to Rodrigo and her massive following for help in his latest campaign to get more Americans vaccinated. She explained that she was “humbled and honored” to do it while speaking in the White House briefing room. Press Secretary Jen Psaki also explained that Olivia went the extra mile by offering to come to Washington D.C. herself...and we’re so glad she did.

Vice President Kamala Harris has also added to Biden’s campaign by hosting virtual gatherings with celebrities such as Camila Cabelo, Kim Kardashian, Joe Jonas, and Karlie Kloss, among others, to talk about the importance of getting the vaccine. It was noted by the White House that Olivia’s voice has spread to over 28 million people across all of her social media platforms ( so powerful!). This White House collab has all taken place shortly after the record-shattering release of her debut album “SOUR”, which has continued to reign over the Billboard charts for several weeks now. Olivia Rodrigo is equal parts talented, stylish, and *woke AF.* We can’t wait to see what she does next!
