This past Friday, the University Girl executive board gathered for an end-of-semester celebration at Crazy Daisies, the beloved greenhouse and garden café just outside Syracuse. Sponsored by Crazy Daisies, the evening was filled with reflection, laughter and genuine gratitude as we looked back on all we’ve accomplished this semester.

We shared artisanal pizzas made with local, seasonal ingredients. One of our editors in chief, Shayla Ismael, told us her favorite of the night was the autumn flatbread: “I ate the whole thing — I couldn’t help myself,” she said. We also enjoyed a signature pomegranate Moscow Mule, created by our team and inspired by this semester’s issue of Muse. Served as both a cocktail and a mocktail, it was the perfect nod to our creativity and collaborative spirit.

The ambiance at Crazy Daisies was nothing short of magical — soft lights, rustic tables, plants everywhere and the warmth that only comes from a family-run space.

The café began as a small greenhouse and has since blossomed into a full farm, floral studio and garden café run by Glenn and Jennifer Cox and their six children. Each member of the family contributes to the business, from tending the greenhouses to helping craft the menu. Their story reflects hard work, big dreams and a deep sense of community.

Crazy Daisies offers live music on weekends, seasonal workshops such as wreath-making and porch pot design, and a menu that celebrates locally sourced produce. The space is also dog-friendly and family-friendly, making it a perfect spot for gatherings, creative hangouts or a cozy meal with friends.

If you're in the Syracuse area, we highly recommend planning a visit to Crazy Daisies Greenhouse and Garden Café at 4693 Kasson Road. Come for the food and flowers — stay for the atmosphere that feels like a hug.
