UGirl Holiday Gift Guide: Moms
For the moms who seem impossible to shop for.
by ORLI REIN ★ DECEMBER 10, 2020
Holidays: my favorite time of year, but also the most stressful… especially when it comes to gifting for my mom. You see, I have no issue coming up with a list of presents. But the thing about dealing with moms—or at least my mom—is that it is almost impossible to get her anything. She either claims she doesn’t need it or she somehow already has it. Therefore, I had my mom, the one and only, sit down with me and help curate the perfect gift guide to help bring down any stress you might be feeling. From home decor to kitchen accessories to self-care items, mom or not, any person will want something on this guide. Enjoy!
For the kitchen:
For moms who love to collect hand made china: this set is really unique and definitely stands out compared to other good old bowls. This design is a bit more out there for the traditional style, but if your mom loves a pop of color in the kitchen, these bowls are for her.
This is definitely not your basic pan, and that’s why the Always Pan is so raved about and considered a kitchen must-have. Not only do they offer fun pastel colors that are unlike any other pan, but this is a multifunctional pan that can be used for anything from sautéing and steaming to frying and scrambling.
A smart indoor garden that grows and cares for your herbs and vegetables is a city mom’s dream. If you do not have an outdoor garden in your backyard or the cold weather makes it hard to care for, this indoor garden is the perfect gift for those moms who love to incorporate fresh ingredients into everyday cooking.
Home:
A coffee table book is a great personalized gift for your mom. Not only is it fun to look through and serves as a piece of decoration, but it’s an homage to the places, things, and icons your mom loves. This is something she will definitely appreciate, especially if she has an interest in something particular. For example, this coffee table book on St. Tropez is perfect for my mom because she loves all things South of France.
For the moms who love interior design, vases are always a classic go-to. They are timeless home decor pieces that can be used as pure decoration or to stylize with flowers or leaves. Depending on the style of your home, vase shapes will vary so have fun and pick one that you think resonates with your mom’s vibe.
Sometimes something as simple as a knit blanket can mean the world to your mom. It’s something that she will hold onto forever, and as corny as this sounds, every time she uses it she’ll think of it as a hug from you.
Self care:
The Mirror is a mirror that projects workout classes for you to watch both an instructor and your form. This is a pricey purchase and not for everyone, but if your mom is a workout fanatic and has been sad about the gym being closed due to COVID, this is a really great gift that will get good use!
As winter is quickly approaching, it’s important to make sure your skin stays hydrated. A facial steamer is a great gift that will make your mom feel like she’s at the spa and help add moisture back.
Because of their aromatherapy properties, candles are perfect gifts. Around the holidays with all of the chaos of making sure everything is in order, a candle can remind your mom that she needs to take time for herself and relax.
High quality skincare is a safe option when you’re not sure what to get your mom. A product like hand cream, which is relatively compact and can easily be thrown into a bag, is something she’ll definitely make use of over time.
For the more spiritual people out there, a geode is a beautiful gift you can give your mom if you are trying to include her in some of your interests! Geodes bring mindfulness and tranquility into homes, but they are also stunning to look at and each is one of a kind.
I don’t know a single mom who doesn’t appreciate a good pajama set. Treat your mom to a cute and comfy pair of pajamas, and even grab a matching pair for yourself if you want to plan a girls night. There are so many different styles and patterns out there, so look around and find a pair you can see your mom in!
Obviously, every mom is different and no gift guide is a “one size fits all,“ but hopefully this helped you come up with a few ideas of what speaks to your mom’s vibe. Remember that you know her best, so get creative and have fun with it! Best wishes, UGirl.
